Record And Watch TV Shows Online – How To Do It

There are several methods you can use to record TV shows and movies from your computer. After installing satellite to PC software I was able to get 4,000 channels. This was great but I wanted to record the shows and watch them later.

I was very excited after installing the software, there were so many channels available, but I got tired of sitting in front of my computer to watch movies.

If you have a video output in the back of your computer you can connect the video out into your regular TV. I have a 65-inch Sony that I hooked my PC into and it works great. Some shows are a little grainy, about equal to watching an old VCR tape. Overall the results are pretty good. Most of the cannels are crystal clear and equal to my cable service.

So how do you record shows? If you have a video out on your Computer or TV you can hook up a VCR or DVD burner and record anything you want! I have built up a very nice collection of movies and burned them onto DVD’s. I would have spent a fortune if I had purchased them all.

What so you do if you have no video output on your computer? There are a few things you can do to record. This is not the best option but you can download a screen capture program like CamStudio for free and record at full screen. Makes a large file but it works.

Your best bet is to install a video card with TV out or video capture built into it. They are not that expensive if you shop around. Some come with build in tuners. If you have cable you can hook directly into your computer. Some of the more expensive ones even come with a remote control.

The software that came with satellite TV for PC also works great. I downloaded their CD, DVD copy software and have been using it to build my media collection.

I recently canceled my cable service. The last bill I received from them went up all the sudden for no reason, I called customer service and sat on hold for ever then got cut off. I sat and thought about it for a while and decided who needs them and canceled my service. No more monthly cable bill.

Yes you can watch old movies online. I just love the old black and white movies. One of my favorites is the old Sherlock Holmes series. With the satellite to Pc program there is a pretty good selection of old shows and movies.

I found a lot that I have never seen, or even heard of before. The old comedies are great too.
During the first half of the twentieth century movies were made in black and white because either that was all there was available or shooting in color was too expensive. The decision became an artistic one by the 1950's.

Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho was made in black and white after a decade in which he made color masterpieces including Rear Window, Vertigo and North By Northwest. Steven Spielberg made Schindler’s List in black and white, and Woody Allen did Manhattan and Zalig in black and white. Even in 1940 when Orson Wells filmed Citizen Kane he had carte blanc from the studio and could have filmed in color if he chose.

When watching these black and white classics, remember that much of what promotes your reaction to these films is the manipulation of light to create these sometimes stark, more often gray images.

Gulliver's Travels (1939)

A life-threatening situation develops when the bumbling trio of Blefiscu spies, Sneak, Snoop, and Snitch, manage to steal Gulliver's pistol.

Reefer Madness (1938)

The film toured around the country for many years - often being re-edited and re-titled ("Tell Your Children", "Dope Addict", "Doped Youth", "Love Madness", "The Burning Question"). It was re-discovered in the early 1970s by NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and screened again as an example of the government's demonization of marijuana. NORML may have been confused about the film's sponsorship since one of the film's distributors, Dwain Esper, testified to the Arizona Supreme Court that "Reefer Madness" was not a trashy exploitation film but was actually sponsored by the U.S. Government - a convincing lie, but a lie nonetheless.

That being said, the film is still quick enjoyable since it dramatizes the "violent narcotic's ... soul destroying" effects on unwary teens, and their hedonistic exploits enroute to the bottom.
